Association	Position on Sargenti Paste
Florida - West Coast District Dental Association	The WCDDA instructs its dental members to "DO NOT - Advertise your use of Sargenti Paste because it falls below the standard of care in the State of Florida." (Link) WHY? They should be instructing their members NOT to use Sargenti Paste because it falls below the standard of care in Florida. The links related to this topic have been updated to reflect a move in the dental association's website. However, as they updated their website they did NOT remove the recommendation to NOT advertise the use of Sargenti paste like they should have.
Chicago Dental Society	Chicago Dental Society enabling and facilitating substandard dentistry at upcoming mid-winter meeting. The CDS is providing clinic tables to demonstrate the Sargenti root canal method which includes the use of FDA-rejected Sargenti Paste, aka N2, RC2B, RC2W (http://www.cds.org/pdf/mwm/2009/table_clinics_etal.pdf). Without doubt, the use of Sargenti Paste is considered below the standard of endodontic care in the United States (link). We strongly believe that the CDS has an ethical obligation and moral responsibility to its profession and to the public to which it protects to not propagate negligent practices that are widely known to be unapproved and dangerous.
